Claire is Four Months

View this post on Instagram Claire is four months!⁣ ⁣ Her quite-likely-inaccurate-mom-&-Bennett-conducted measurements are: 15 lbs and 24.5.” ⁣ ⁣ This month she:⁣ ▪️”found her voice” – she’s loud and sounds like a chicken so we’re calling her “chickaletta”⁣ ▪️started sleeping through the night 🎉⁣ ▪️started rolling over back to tummy like a champ⁣ ⁣ […]

We have arrived! Claire is regularly sleeping through the night. Holy moly macaroni! I love this baby! Bennett didn’t sleep through the night consistently until 13 months. We did not know the wonders of a dream feed for Bennett though. (Claire does get a dream feed every night around 10 pm).

This was a big month for our little princess. She got to see the lake house for the first time, meet her cousin Charlotte, Unc & Aunt Kate, and meet some friends.

While COVID-19 is still a big threat in NC, we’re now in “Phase Two” which means we can see some people! (Outside or with masks on) but man, we had a cookout with one other family the day we were allowed to. It was amazing to see our friends Sam & Rich and their kids Greyson & Addie! And then, we had a cookout the next week with our friends Beth, Michael & their son Charlie. Sam & Beth got to meet Claire when she was days old, but then Corona Virus ruined everything.

Monthly Questionnaire

Age: 4 months

Weight: 15 lbs

Length: 24.5″

Size: 6 months for everything

Eyes: blue

Hair: brunette

Sleeping: She sleeps from 7 pm to 6:30 am in her crib with a dream feed from Mama at 10 pm. Jimmy is sleeping in the bed in the nursery. She naps four times a day usually.

Eating: combo feeding from bottles. She’s about 20/80 breastmilk and formula. I cut back to two pumping sessions a day. I just couldn’t keep up with Bennett, Claire, pumping, Kai, the house, feeding from bottles, cleaning pumping parts, cleaning bottles, etc. She also will actively spit out a breastmilk bottle only to chug a formula one, so I’m treating any breastmilk she gets as a “multi vitamin.”

Milestones: She “found her voice” – it is loud and sounds like a chicken; rolls from tummy to back; sleeps through the night

Memorable outings: we went to “The Round House” (my parents lake house) and she met her cousin Charlie, Unc & Aunt Kate! She went to the pool for the first time – I only dipped her toes in the water, but she was there

Likes: eating, baths, her brother, her mama, sleeping

Dislikes: pacifiers, the wind, the sun, being awake too long

Words/sounds: she squawks

Nicknames: “Chickaletta,” “Claire Bear,” “Sweet Thing,” “Claireaboo,” “Ginger Snap”

Interesting Facts: she loves her Baby Bjorn bouncer. Like LOVES it. She bounces multiple times a day including every dinner so Mama can eat

Funny moments: she literally sounds like a chicken

Looking forward to: watching her personality develop
