Monday morning (Halloween) started at 4 am when Jimmy left to go hunting and thought he was turning down the fan but turned on the light, which of course woke me up, and that triggered me to have to pee and then my stomach decided I was starving. I tried to go back to sleep, but it was no use. Around 4:45, I went downstairs to eat my favorite organic no sugar added applesauce from the jar (bowls are overrated for 4 am snacks). This woke Kai up from his new bed, the couch. He started following me around thinking it was time to get up. That woke me up more. I finally got back to bed around 5 am and slept off-and-on until my alarm went off. So yes, I was very tired all day Monday.

For Halloween, bump and I were skeletons – baby totally stole the show. I got the hand painted shirt from Etsy.

The rest of the week was uneventful.

We headed to the cottage for the weekend. Jimmy wanted to go hunting at a park Maryland Department of Natural Resources just opened up for hunting that is right by the cottage, we wanted to see my family, Kai loves it there (the real reason we do anything is for the dog, let’s be real), and our family friends Jim & Debra were going to be there – they live in AZ so we definitely wanted to see them! I have known Jim my entire life. He and my Dad have been friends since elementary school.

Questionnaire:

How far along? 25 Weeks

How big is baby? The length of a large cucumber, weight of a rutabaga or small cantaloupe: 13.6 inches 1.5 lbs (according to the app) – this week babies start growing at their own rate but I’ll keep listing the average from the app

Maternity clothes? Always and forever

Sleep: Tired all week. I think I had too many activities last weekend. Takes me a while to recover now.

Best moment this week: A great fall visit to the Cottage

Movement: My Halloween costume didn’t lie. This kid practices karate daily and I couldn’t be more in love Food cravings: nothing really sounded appealing this week

Food Cravings: coco puff cereal but an organic type that I have yet to find :/ so I settled for Honey Nut Cheerios and ate a whole box this week.

Food Aversions: pretty much everything – nothing sounds good except cereal

Gender: Baby’s a boy!

Labor Signs: this question is irrelevant until later

Pregnancy Symptoms: swollen feet – I might need a couple pairs of bigger shoes and definitely need more compression socks 🙁 and my feet feel like I ran 10 miles each day that I do my 45 minute walks. Weirdly, my belly button hurts. It is stretching horizontally and anytime I touch it, it hurts quite a bit. Sitting for too long (aka more than 20 minutes) makes my tailbone hurt. I think my body needs to be laying on the couch watching Netflix. It’s not a want, it really is a need, clearly.

Belly Button in or out? In but it is bigger… and hurts

What I miss: normal feet feeling. At the end of the day, my feet seriously feel like I’ve run 10 miles that day. I have all these plans to do laundry or bake something in the evenings (ambitious, I know) and all I end up doing is laying on the couch with my feet elevated. Sigh.

Heavenly

What I am looking forward to: Thanksgiving – this will be wonderful being pregnant 🙂

Upcoming appointments/events: my 30th birthday 11/20, 7 month OB & glucose screening 11/30

Weekly Wisdom: Putting my hand on my belly (skin to skin) makes baby wiggle and gives me the happiest feeling. I think he can feel the skin-to-skin contact.

Milestones: over 60% done
